16th October 2015 - Phantasy Star Online 2: Translation Launcher Discontinued

I am officially discontinuing my Phantasy Star Online 2: Translation Launcher. There are much better alternatives available now so there is no need for me to keep updating mine.


It was fun while it lasted but was really too much work for me to keep updating.

19th April 2013 - Phantasy Star Online 2: Translation Launcher v1.2.7 Released

Version 1.2.7

A launcher for use with PSO2 that replaces the official launcher. It will backup all patchable menu files when you launch the game then restore them once the game exits. It can also install translated story files, update your PSO2 installation, edit options and give you a server status update.

Here is the changelog for the new version:
  • Added: Option to ignore story patch update warnings in Tool Box >> Story Patch (off by default).
  • Added: Option to choose the backup directory and clean it in Tool Box >> Launcher Options
  • Fixed: Restore story backup files button is now always enabled even if there are 0 files shown in the backup directory.
  • Fixed: Backup now shows "Unknown Backup Files" as default.
  • Fixed: The launcher now checks SEGA's patches_old directory during update checks, dangerous patch analysis and story backup restoration.
  • Fixed: If restoring the story backup files fails, the installer now knows it's gone.
  • Fixed: Cancel button was showing still after updates on validation processes.

20th March 2013 - Phantasy Star Online 2: Translation Launcher v1.2.6 Released

Version 1.2.6

A launcher for use with PSO2 that replaces the official launcher. It will backup all patchable menu files when you launch the game then restore them once the game exits. It can also install translated story files, update your PSO2 installation, edit options and give you a server status update.

Here is the changelog for the new version:
  • Added: Backup directory is now checked for files during update / validate checks.
  • Added: If the installed story version is different to the PSO2 version, a warning message will tell you to restore / validate files.
  • Fixed: Application crash after updates, the update process was not affected but you had to restart the application.
  • Fixed: If story patch version does not match the PSO2 version, the alerts about the story patch now do not display.
  • Fixed: When creating story file backups, the PSO2 version was taken from the patch and not the PSO2 version file.
  • Fixed: TCP Timeout now shows correctly for half seconds.
  • Fixed: Added a fix to try and stop the main form dropping behind other windows.
  • Fixed: Some debug mode fixes, not really relevant for the general user.

  • Fixed: Validate story patch files now ends correctly and prompts for manual install.
  • Fixed: Application freeze when validating SEGA crc during story installation.

Version 1.2.2

A launcher for use with PSO2 that replaces the official launcher. It will backup all patchable menu files when you launch the game then restore them once the game exits. It can also install translated story files, update your PSO2 installation, edit options and give you a server status update.

Here is the changelog for the new version:
  • Fixed: Default language was set incorrectly causing an exception when trying to load the tool box.
  • Fixed: Message was not shown when the story patch files were incorrect.
  • Fixed: Message window now brings itself to the front properly when re-activating the form.
  • Fixed: Message window now appears correctly at the center of the main form rather than at the center of your screen.
